Thangka Painting Of Yamantaka, Destroyer of the God of Death

1 In Stock

This depiction of a wrathful defender of Buddhism would have been a terrifying presence. Yamantaka is a violent manifestation of the Bodhisattva Manjushri, who takes on this form to defeat Yama, the deity of death. Yamantaka, who shares many characteristics with Mahakala, is distinguished by his blue skin and the multitude of qualities shown above. He is surrounded by five smaller manifestations, each of which is a Yama-conqueror riding a buffalo.
