Old Copper kashmiri Storage Canister

A stunning piece of antique Kashmiri copper ware embellished in an Indo Persian Islamic style. This tea caddy or storage container. This lovely canister was handcrafted by a skilled coppersmith and shaped in several sections: the neck collar, the dished shoulder, the main body, foot, and base, and then all parts were soldered together. After it was assembled, it was hand-decorated with chased and embossed punch and chisel work. Similarly, the lid or cap is adorned. A continuous connected floral scroll border decorates the neck and foot.
