Kalighat Painting Of Krishna and Balarama

A lovely depiction of the blue-skinned god Krishna and his older brother Balarama in this Kalighat painting. Typically, Balarama is depicted with a white complexion and holding a horn or a ploughshare. Both goddesses wear pleated dhotis and are adorned with peacock crowns and silver necklaces (made of tin alloy). Balarama grew up in Brindaban with Krishna and was raised by the cowherd Nandi's family. He helped Krishna kill a great number of demons. This painting is from our kali ghat collection from Bengal. Available in size 28"x28" in excellent condition.
