A Mughal harem in the style of the time 48 X 36

1 In Stock

A harem Mughal art painting was a prized possession. The term harem is derived from the Arabic word haram, which literally means sacred or forbidden and is used to refer to Mecca's sacred precincts. It signifies refuge in Persian and palace in Sanskrit. However, in its harem incarnation, the phrase describes the seraglio or the area of the palace allocated for the women, but it became synonymous with a place where men who were fortunate and wealthy enough to afford it could have sexual access to many girls.
