Brass Deepalakshmi Or Pavai Villaku Oil Lamp

This antique lady lamp (also known as 'Paavai Villakku' or Deepalakshmi) is from Tamil Nadu. The work on the piece is old, and the specifics in the dress, hairdo, ornaments, and bird on the shoulder is exquisite. This lamp is available in a variety of sizes, ranging from very small to nearly life-size. Large stone versions of this lamp can also be found in Hindu shrines and temples in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, particularly at the base of columns and flanking temple entrances.
